17 weeks
We are getting closer to the half way point. I can't believe it. We go this Wed. at 1p for our big ultrasound, but it won't be as big since we are NOT going to find out what we are having. I just love, love, love surprises, so I just can't do it. January 2009 will be here soon enough.
Here is what babycenter.com says is going on this week: "Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop. The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her locks aren't recognizable yet. She's even started growing toenails. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds."
