JJ's Birth Story...
Sunday night, I felt a real heaviness under belly all night while I was sleeping. I felt alot of cramping that morning from 7a-12n. At 8:50 am, I went to the dr. to get check and get my lining stripped. I was 3.5 cm and 80%.
About, 12n I called my nurse because I was concerned it was contractions not just cramping. She told me to lay on my left side and it would go away if false labor. They didn't. At 1:30-2:30, they went from 12 min. apart, to 8 min, to 4 min. to 5 min. to 5 min. to 5 min. I told Jeremy to go to a 2pm meeting, but thankfully he didn't. At 3p, we left house for another dr. appt. Peggy (my neighbor) came over to be with Emmie while she was napping. Papa (Jermey's dad) got to the house to relieve her about 3:30p. About 4p, my parents left Memphis to head this way.
We were headed to the hospital and Jeremy was very nervous. He didn't turn camera on when trying to take my last prego pix, he was setting up the pack n play to be ready for JJ when we got home, I had to remind him to get off 280 to go to the hospital, and when he pulled past the parking deck ticket dispenser and waited for arm to raise to go thru into the parking deck. Really funny!
At 3:30p Dr. Ross checked me and I was 6 cm and 80%. He said "Do you want an epidural?" YES! "Well, then you better hurry up and get down to labor and delivery!" So at 4p, we checked into labor and delivery. At 5:30p, I got my epidural and once it kicked in Dr. Ross broke my water. When he checked me I was 7 cm and 100%. Dr. Ross will came back and checked me in 2 hrs. and then we started a little pitosen. He thought I would deliver about 8:30ish. I had Nurse Mariam as my pushing nurse.
About 7:30p, I was 8cm, 100%, and 0 for his head. Dr. Ross would be back to check me at 8:30p. Now He thinks he will deliver about 10p. At 8:30p, I was 9.5 cm. Almost time to push, so I kissed Emmie and she headed out to the waiting room. Jeremy and I kissed too and Emmie said "awe y'all love each other". Very funny!
From 8:57-10:17 I pushed. Jermey went and got Emmie from the waiting room.
She came in to meet JJ and she was just beside herself. She sang him "Happy Birthday" and "Jesus Loves Me". She said "look at his cute ears".

About 11:00p, we skyped with Jen/Chad and then the rest of family came in. About 11:30p, Emmie and our families left to go home and we were moved to our post pardum room. About 1:00a, Ms. Pam gave him his first bath.
