Happy Four Months Birthday, Emmie!

Emily,
Monthly Growing Photos

Do I start out each of your letters with "WOW!"? Another month has gone by and it has been so much fun. I celebrated my 31st birthday with you and also Mother's Day for the first time. We took you to the lake to spend the night and also put your feet in the gulf ocean for the first time. We celebrated our 7th Anniversary with you in now the world! What great memories!

You are:
13 lbs and 4 oz (50%tile)
25 inches long (75%tile)
16 inch head (normal)

I have had 2 unforgettable moments with you this month:
1. you feel asleep on my shoulder in church and I could hear you breathing your sweet breaths in my ear! oh my!
2. we were at dinner and I just couldn't stop staring at you. My heart was going "pitter patter, pitter patter!". I fall more and more in love with you, my sweet girl!

I love looking back on all your accomplishments this month:
-when laying on your back your feet are in the air ALOT
-I have been working with you on sitting up with assistance in the Bumbo
-you can hold your rattle now
-we moved your last feeding to 9:30pm now (instead of 10p)
-you are a pro at sleeping through the night from 10p-8a! Mommy and Daddy say "Thank you!"
-you have lost some of the hair on the sides of your head. If we gave you a bam bam, you would see that you only have a comb over. Oh, and Daddy is ready to cut your mullet in the back. It is getting too long.
-you sent flower shopping with your Great Grandmother Dot and she called you a "Fat Little Monkey" - to cute!
-I read books to you for the first time this month and you have enjoyed looking at the bright colors.
-they say you have a 7 second memory - when Daddy kisses your foot, you keep giving it back to him to do over and over again
-your cousin Tate calls you "Lemily" - too sweet!
-you love it when Daddy puts you down for a nap or bed b/c he rubs your belly and sings to you
-you LOVE your tag blanket and pull it to your mouth to chew on ALOT
-you are such an awesome burper for Mommy now - big and quick!
-I started singing "Patty Cake" with you and it makes you smile.
-you now have 1 hour of awake time after eating! you are growing! You are still on a 3 1/2 hour schedule.
-you are really good at helping to hold up your legs when we change your diaper
-Daddy likes for you to give him hugs. He wraps your arms around his neck and squeezes them. silly Daddy!
-you are a hot natured little baby! you sweat sometimes when I have my hand on your head while you are nursing.
-Daddy saw you with your eyes closed and rubbing your tag blanket while falling asleep in your carrier.
-you have a "slow blink" as Daddy calls it when you are tired. a give away! You are also really cute when you rub your eyes, just started this month.
-Daddy said your feet smell like feet now. funny!
-you love to dance with Mommy on the couch
-you love to chew on your tongue
-you LOVE to smile at yourself whenever we stop at a mirror

Daddy and I couldn't have dreamed up a more beautiful daughter. We LOVE your round face, beautiful eyes, gorgeous complexion, chin with a dimple, and your 2 HUGE dimples on both your cheeks.

Love you always,
Mommy

A True Miracle!

From 5-21-09 RA Graduation
Tonight, Jeremy, Emily, and I went to Restoration Christian Academy's High School Graduation in Fairfield, AL. I have been volunteering at this school for about 1 1/2 yrs. and it is truly a privilege to know these students.

It is amazing and so overwhelming that these students would make it and have such a huge life accomplishment. I am SO proud of them. There were 8 students that graduated and all have been accepted to college. Almost all of them are first time college students in their family.

I think this is just one of those miracles that we overlook each day. Just like the fact that babies being born are true miracles, these students are too! It makes me well up with joy for them. There were grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousin, family friends, etc. there to see this major milestone in their lives.

Congrats RA Graduates of 2009!
love you! Michelle

Happy 7th Anniversary, My Man!

Jeremy,

What an awesome day! 7 years ago the Lord united us into one flesh. I am so grateful for the ministries the Lord has done through us together that He could not do with us as individuals.

This year our love has grown even more this year with the blessing of little Emily. It is amazing to see you as a father. It has been awesome to keep our marriage #1 through this transition of becoming a family of 3. Thank you for showing me that you still love me greater.

I love you, always!
Michelle

Here is a pix from our relaxing evening. We went on a family walk, laid Emmie down, drank a beer and ate an appetizer by candle light on the porch while Jeremy grilled our dinner, and then snuggled on the couch to watch the season premiere of Bachlorette (our favorite show!).

My First Mother's Day

Emily,

From 5-10-09 My First Mother's Day

What an exciting day! I got to celebrate being your mommy today. I loved it! As I say, time and time again, you are such a joy and blessing to take care of. It doesn't matter if you need a diaper change, need to be fed, or just loved on it is my privilege to try provide for you each and every day through the Lord. Most people say that their children are spoiled, but we say you have spoiled us by having such a contented spirit, easy going, sleeping so well, being a great eater, and having the best smile ever with 2 HUGE dimples.

I pray that you will praise Our Lord and Savior one day soon! As I was singing to you in church today - "Hallelujah, to our Great God!" WOW! That brought tears to my eyes. We do worship a truly Great God who has entrusted you to your dad and I, allowing us to care for you.

I love you so much!
Your Mommy

Jeremy put Emmie's highchair together this weekend. She won't be using it for another 3 months or so, but I wanted to make sure all the parts were there. She seems to like it already though.
