Happy Five Months Birthday, Emmie!

Each month we are so grateful the the Lord that you are such and joyful, pleasure, and content baby girl! We are LOVING having you in our lives. It has brought your daddy and I closer together. It is amazing to care for you and work for you each day.

Here are some of your newest accomplishments this month:
-you are now 15 lbs. 5 oz. and 25.5 inches long
-MOST IMPORTANT MILESTONE - you have TWO bottom teeth at 4 months old
-You played in the church nursery for the 1st time this month with Ms. Minnie and Miss Eva.
-We got you some sunglasses for you to wear in the car, at the pool, and at the beach
-Daddy starting playing with your bath toys with you. You LOVE them and bath time!
-You like to click your tongue and also make a fish smacking noise and clicking noise like Mommy and Daddy.
-We started trying to let you sleep on your tummy without your swaddle, but we resorted back to your swaddle since you still fit in it for now.
-You have been to the lake for Memorial Day, time with our Slidell friends, and also with our Sunday School class. You like the lake water and look so cool in your float. You took your first nap on the daybed on the porch at the lake. We were there at one point for 11 days!
-You helped Daddy to celebrate his 31st Birthday and also his 1st Father's Day!
-You consistently sleep all night on your own until at least 7:30a every morning.
-You always love to see yourself in the mirror when we stop for a second.
-You still strain your neck to see the tv if you hear it in the room.
-Your feet are ticklish.
-I have a new nickname for you when you squeel loud "sister!"
-You giggle every once in a while when we don't expect it. The first time you giggled was at the lake when Ben, your cousin, took a party kazoo and blew it in your face and you thought it was funny.
-You stared at your left hand for 30 min. while we were driving to Memphis this week. You think your hands are SO interesting.
-You are getting good at rolling on your side, but you don't make it all the way over yet.
-You like to chew on your paci like it is a toy. You are also good at putting it back in your mouth by yourself when you are sitting in your carseat.

I love you always and look forward to watching you grow even more next month!

Happy 1st Father's Day, Jeremy!

Jeremy I am so thankful to honor you today. You have been an amazing daddy to Emmie these past 4 1/2 months and she is SO blessed. I am grateful to the Lord that you have accepted the responsibility to love her unconditionally and also as Christ loved the church.

From 6-21-09 Jeremy's 1st Father's Day

What a special day! Jeremy mentioned he has been waiting for this day for a long time. Well, it has been awesome! We spent the morning at church as a family, then just hung around the house while Emmie and I took naps, and then we had Jeremy's family over for dinner.

I helped to host a sprinkle (a baby shower for your second child) for Diana on Saturday too. It was so nice to honor her. She got some really cute outfits for Mallory. Click on the pix above to see more from the sprinkle.

Happy 31st Birthday, Jeremy!

Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday. It was an uneventful day. He had time around the house just watching golf, a Target run to buy the Ghostbuster Wii game, and we went out to dinner with his family at Stix (a chineese restaurant). See more pix by click on this pix below.

Today is the first day that I have put Emmie down for her naps on her tummy AND without her wrap! She has done great! For her first nap this morning, she slept 1 hr. and 15 min. straight (after a 20 min. cry to settle herself). She woke up sweet and happy, as usual, with her funky hairdo (pix above). Then this afternoon, she slept for 1 hr. and 45 min. (after a 15 min. cry). I am just so grateful to the Lord that this has been a smooth transition so far.

Bath Time Tonight and Facebook Status Updates

We have such a fun time with Emmie in the bath tonight. We used the ramp to prop her up a little and also be able to add more water for her to splash. We also got some toys out to entertain her with and she loved them! It was so cute that her feet were wrinkled like raisins when we got her out after having so much fun. 3/15/09 Can't believe I haven't updated my status in 2 weeks. Time flies when you're changing diapers!

3/31/09 Our little Mona Lisa... I mean, Emily Jane.

4/19/09 had a great weekend... date with the ole lady on Friday night at Ocean, sleeping in on Saturday, then a date tonight at a fundraiser event. Emily had fun with the Batsons while mom and dad played!

5/7/09 loves hangin' with his ladies- my hot tamale Michelle (wife) and my little rockstar Emmie (daughter)!

5/11/09 Enjoyed waking up on the beach today today with my family. Well, not on the beach literally... we woke up in a bed, in a condo, that is a few hundred feet from the beach, but you know what I mean.

5/19/09 feels sorry for Emily. She got her 4 month shots today (3 of them).

6/6/09 Emily has two bottom teeth now. What's next... tampons?

P.S. I also finished knitting this outfit for Emmie. It will fit her when she is about 6 months.

Many Milesstones Today

#1 and most important:

Emmie has her first 2 teeth! Look closely - this is Jeremy opening her mouth to show off her teeth!

I was in the backseat of the car giving her some hiccup medicine while Jeremy was returning a movie. When he came back to the car I was yelling "Open the back car door! Open the back car door!" He looked at me and said - I did. I was so shocked that I was not processing that he was in the back seat. I told him "Feel like you are looking for Emmie's teeth!" Crazy, but so exciting! Jeremy said she is growing up now we need to buy her tampons. We didn't even know they were coming in. She hasn't been fussy, drooling too bad, or any other teething symptoms.

#3 No nap!

We helped to give a wedding shower for Brian and Kathy. We set them up about 2 years ago and so it is so exciting that they are now getting married. Emmie didn't sleep from one feeding to the next because we were partying hard! This is a first, but thankfully she was a very good and sweet girl, since we pushed her a little. #4 Ice!

Jeremy fed her ice today and she loved it! I guess it felt really good on her gums.

1st Time in the Nursery

Emily was in the nursery this morning for the first time. She got a great report! See below...

"Also, I want to brag on your sweet little girl…we had to help with the crib babies this morning b/c there were so many and all but Emily were VERY upset. That room was filled with cries and she just sat in her swing smiling and giggling away. It was hilarious. I personally wanted to pull my hair out but she didn’t seem to mind at all. She got the prize for the best baby in nursery!"

We think she is just an angel sent from heaven above, but I am sure it won't be long and she will be one of the "very upset" ones.

...at the end of the week, my friends that I went to highschool and their families came in for 4 days. It was a blast to all be together for some fun, relaxing, and catching up.
