Emmie,
WOW! We have had such a fun month with you! I just told your dad yesterday that I don't think we smiled as much before you came, especially in the car! In the car, you just make so many cute noises, faces, and do funny things when we are watching you in the mirror.
This month you have:
-Grown. You are now 17 lbs. and 27 inches.
-You are VERY active in your swaddle now! You can roll on your side and belly! You can even get an arm out sometimes!
-You like to surf like a penguin on your belly on the floor. All your limbs are back and off the floor.
-Been asked by your dad "So, what do you think of life so far?"
-You have started noticing my earrings and you have been very gentle touching them.
-You smile big when we scrunch up our noses and sniff at you.
-You are an accomplished sitter now! You can sit for 30 min. at a time and even lean over and get any of the toys around you that you want to play with.
-You are very oral still and make 3 new noises with your mouth: 1. a clicking sound with your lips; 2. you move your tongue like you are nursing; 3. a frog noise in the back of your throat (but raspberries with your lips are still your favorite!)
-You like to lean your head to the side and look sideways. I think you like the view and the sensation.
-You like to play peak-a-boo now and give us huge smiles!
-You have a new cousin, Mallory Elizabeth Long, born August 5
th.
-We help you give us kisses now by putting your open mouth up to our cheeks and sometimes it makes you giggle.
-You are really good at getting a toy that has gotten out of your reach on the floor or in your
exersaucer if you want it.
-Your hair on the sides is starting to grow back in!
-You flew on a plane for the first time to see Aunt Jen, Uncle, Chad, and Molly in Baltimore.
-Your Aunt Jen tried to touch her fingers around your thigh and they wouldn't touch - your are "Miss
Roley Polly" :)
-You are reaching out to people now for them to pick you up or hold you.
-We got your Leap Frog Musical Table out and you love playing with it.
-You are doing well with your baby food: applesauce, baby oatmeal, peas, peaches, and sweet potatoes.
-You had your first "Spend the Night" party with Pug and Aunt
Jordy while we went to a concert and slept in the next morning.
-You LOVE to look out the window when we are driving in the car. Too cute!
-You are
definitely ticklish under your chin, ribs, and on your thigh right next to your diaper.
"Lord, Thank you for entrusting Emily to us! We love being her parents and hope we bring you joy in the process. We enjoy reading Emily a Bible stories and praying as a family - please help us to continue showing her Your love each day. We ask that she would come to know You at a young age."
